![]() ![]() I think all that and the feeling of it being a 'tourist attraction' left me feeling a little like they are trying to cash in on this tragic place in the wrong sort of way. Going round the place I was disappointed the musemn was not open and doesn't look like it wll be very soon as it's a building work inside and then there is all the massive building works that is going on around the place. Located in the city’s bustling financial district in Downtown Manhattan it offers some of the most breath-taking views across the city up the One World Observatory and it is home to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. I also think if you are going to open it to public then why not wait till it's fully completed. When planning your visit to New York City, One World Trade Center also known as Freedom Tower must be on the bucket list. I agree with another reviewer that it is heading towards being a 'tourist attraction' and to me this is not a place that should become another attraction, it was the scene of a very tragic event and no one will ever forget but I saw some very disrespectful people that day - one woman taking photos of a family taking a stencilled copy of what I assume was a family members name from one of the fountains and school children running around screaming at each other no teacher keeping them in line in a place where so many lives were lost. To avoid wasting time in tiresome lines, we recommend visitors pre-book tickets.Lines too long for getting into the area and so many ticket checks (4) if you've made it through security and it is all cordoned off then why a further 2 checks! It was a dull misty wet day when I was there and it all lent to the atmosphere of the place and seeing all those names engraved on fountains brings back the sad and tragic events. The number of tickets is limited by scheduled turns, which means, that visitors must buy their tickets in advance. The One World Observatory would be our third favorite. This said, the city’s best viewpoints are without a doubt: The Empire State Building Observatory followed by the Top of the Rock since both offer different sensations. The whole experience, from as soon as you walk inside the building, take the elevator covered by led panels that recreate the growth of the city from it once founded. If you enjoy modern architecture and want to observe New York City from its new iconic skyscraper, we recommend the One World Observatory. This makes it harder to get a good photograph and visitors won’t feel the pulse of the city like from the other viewpoints. Sadly, unlike the observation decks of the Empire State and Rockefeller Center, the One World Observatory does not have an outdoor terrace, it's all interior with large glass windows. The 360° views give visitors a vision of up to 80 km in all directions. It's the tallest observatory in New York. The One World Observatory occupies the last three floors of the skyscraper (floors 100 – 102) and reaches a height of 386.5 meters. It offers unimaginable panoramic views of New York. Inaugurated the, 13 months after the skyscraper was opened to the public, the One World Trade Center observation deck, known as the One World Observatory, has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in New York. The rooftop stands 417 meters high, the same measurements as the first tower in the original World Trade Center. Standing 1,776 ft (541 m)-tall, it's currently the sixth-highest building in the world. They had previously created the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the Willis Tower in Chicago, and Jin Mao Tower in China. The architect David Childs and Skidmore Owings & Merrill company were asked to design this new skyscraper. The skyscraper was inaugurated on 3 November 2014. During the first years, the skyscraper was known as Freedom Tower. Nevertheless, the first cornerstone was laid on 4 July 2004 - two years earlier, in a symbolic ceremony. The construction of the building began on 27 April 2006, nearly 5 years after the Twin Towers were destroyed.
